About

As an artist I am on a perpetual search of my mind’s étagères for truth. The search of truth in my process of creating authentic art is at times an exhausting quest. If I had known then what I know now ; the start of a very painful and intriguing novel of artistic discovery from hot stoves to square pigs in round holes. Truth was presented to me on a platter of hors d'oeuvres next to caviar and crème brûlée. I grabbed with innocence, and fervor stretching my finger tips to a platter that just exceeded my reach the closer it appeared. Truth I discovered; rivets on the esoteric landscapes of theory rather than practice. In practice truth, I have discovered bares no witness, destroys lives, and interest an ever-increasing minority

It has become increasingly evident that society at large has little use or care of it’s application. As I continue to grow artistically I lament over those who have passed before me as truth seekers and lay victim to lofty ambitions of changing the world.

I hope to never fall victim to that mental oubliette of artistic thought. As an African American Artist, everything I produce is constantly critiqued and marginalized as good for Black art. This extra burden forces me to create in spite of, because of, and as a result of. It’s my life’s work, that I never want to live doing to others what has been done to me. So, I create because my life depends on it.
